New York, NY (March 16, 2017) – Rosewood Hotels & Resorts announced today the appointment of Luigi Romaniello as Managing Director, Rosewood Baha Mar, the newest Caribbean addition to the Rosewood portfolio. As Managing Director, Romaniello will lead all hotel operations at Rosewood Baha Mar, the exclusive, stunning property within the integrated resort development of Baha Mar in Nassau, The Bahamas.

CTFE has scheduled the opening of Rosewood Baha Mar for spring 2018 with an additional $35M investment to ensure the brand experience meets the expectation of Rosewood guests. The investment will include enhancements of guest rooms, suites, public spaces, swimming pools, and expanded culinary offerings.

The guiding philosophy of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s most respected ultra-luxury hotel groups, is A Sense of Place® in which each property reflects its location’s history, culture and sensibilities. Rosewood Baha Mar will reflect this heritage through elegant British colonial architecture, influenced by Bahamian style and sophistication. The addition of Rosewood Baha Mar to the portfolio will further enhance Rosewood’s reputation as the brand of choice for luxury travelers to the Caribbean while debuting the engaging, intuitive, and refined service to The Bahamas.

Romaniello began his career with Rosewood Hotel Group in 1999 at Caneel Bay, A Rosewood Resort in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He then relocated to the US to oversee operations at the then Rosewood Crescent Court and in 2007, was appointed General Manager of the then Mansion on Peachtree, A Rosewood Hotel in Atlanta. Most recently, Romaniello successfully opened Rosewood Abu Dhabi in 2013.

“We are committed to introducing Rosewood Hotels & Resorts to The Bahamas. Rosewood Baha Mar will celebrate the welcoming, friendly spirit of the Bahamians along with their rich culture, to deliver the genuine and refined service that is at the very forefront of our brand,” said Romaniello, Managing Director, Rosewood Baha Mar. I am truly honored to be part of this very special Rosewood resort, within the spectacular Baha Mar beachfront destination in Nassau. I look forward to creating new and thoughtful programming, while developing a very engaging, service-oriented family who is dedicated to Rosewood’s principle of relationship hospitality and exacting focus on details to create exceptional experiences.”

“I am thrilled to welcome Luigi Romaniello and his family to the beautiful island of New Providence and Baha Mar,” said Graeme Davis, President of Baha Mar/Chow Tai Fook Enterprises CTFE’s Bahamian subsidiary. “Luigi is a seasoned veteran in luxury hotel operations bringing with him more than 18 years of Rosewood Hotel Group experience and repeated successes. I look forward to collaborating on his third Rosewood opening.”
