Open Call To Find Signature Drink of the Islands

ALL PRESS RELEASES

Nassau, Bahamas (March 13, 2017) – Baha Mar is gearing up for the launch of the forthcoming integrated resort development by hosting an open call for all local cocktail creators – from professionals to enthusiasts – to share their original take on the best of the Bahamas in a glass.

The search is on for a local talent to reimagine and create a new Bahamian classic cocktail. From Sky Juice to the Goombay Smash, entrants can draw upon the rich cocktail culture of the Bahamas, local ingredients, and their own creative approach to crafting the ultimate drink to be enjoyed in the new destination.

From now until March 27, submit an original cocktails creation for a chance to be selected as one of the Top 5 Finalists, to be named on March 30. Then, the Finalists will gather for a live presentation of their creations on April 6.  The winner will be selected by a critically acclaimed panel of judges led by the Bahamas own Marv Cunningham (Mr. Mix), Julie Reiner of Flatiron Lounge and Clover Club, Mike Shain of Porchlight, and Mike Di Tota of The Bonnie and Sweet Afton.

“We’re proud to toast the vibrant cocktail culture of the Bahamas through this spirited competition,” said Graeme Davis, President of Baha Mar/Chow Tai Fook Enterprises CTFE’s Bahamian subsidiary. “Our goal is to celebrate the craft of a local talent and offer our guests an original creation they could not experience anywhere else in the world.”

The creator of the best cocktail will win a trip to New York’s prime cocktails bars and will be featured as an exclusive drink on a special, limited-time-offer Baha Mar menu.

To submit a cocktail creation, email cocktails@bahamar.com before March 27th.
