Grand Hyatt Baha Mar Introduces Scott Allen as General Manager

Nassau, Bahamas (March 14, 2017) – Grand Hyatt Baha Mar announces the appointment of Scott Allen as its General Manager. Set to begin operations on April 21, 2017, Grand Hyatt Baha Mar will be the first hotel to open as part of the Baha Mar resort development in conjunction with the Baha Mar Casino, Convention Center, 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Couse and Golf Club, various restaurants and bars, pool areas and dramatic fountain shows choreographed with music, film, and lights.

Allen’s career with Hyatt spans 28 years across various roles in North America and the Caribbean. Most recently, Allen was General Manager at Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort in Maui, Hawaii, where he was responsible for the management, operations and marketing of the resort. During his tenure, Andaz Maui was voted the #1 Top Resort in Hawaii in Conde Nast Traveler’s 2016 Readers’ Choice Awards.

Having opened many resorts throughout the United States, Allen joins Grand Hyatt Baha Mar ahead of the resort’s April 2017 preview opening. The property will feature 1,800 contemporary guestrooms, including 230 suites and residences, with deluxe amenities and balconies or terraces overlooking the resort pools, Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course and glittering ocean views. Upon arrival to the resort, Grand Hyatt Baha Mar guests will be greeted by stunning 40-foot water walls and state-of-the-art fountains surrounding the property’s entrance.

Allen will oversee 20 of Baha Mar’s food & beverage outlets and Grand Hyatt’s signature Grand Club level. Resort guests will enjoy direct access to the Baha Mar Casino, the largest casino in the Caribbean, and a pool complex with various water features ranging from nature inspired lagoon pools to high-end cabana experiences. Grand Hyatt will also manage the Baha Mar Convention Center, set to be one of the largest meeting and convention spaces in the Caribbean, with 200,000 square feet of flexible, indoor and outdoor meeting space, ideal for social events, destination weddings and off-site corporate meetings.
