Katsuya at Baha Mar is the concept of Master sushi chef Katsuya Uechi, renowned for combining sushi and robata classics with California cuisine. Katsuya offers fresh and original takes on Japanese classics, as well as all-new dishes using fresh Bahamian ingredients. The setting’s sleek and sultry ambiance was envisioned by design icon, Philippe Starck and allows for traditional Japanese counter dining, along with a lively dinning room and al fresco dining overlooking the fire fountain.

Master Sushi Chef
Chef Katsuya Uechi is one of a select group of Master sushi chefs in the US and is recognized as a major trend setter in Japanese cuisine. In 1997, Katsuya opened his first restaurant, Sushi Katsu-ya, where he ignited an all-new sushi trend by combining traditional Japanese cuisine with California style fare. He has been featured on “Top Chef”, and authored the cookbook Washoku of California.
