Baha MarLife Spectacular
An Important Announcement
June 12, 2020
At Baha Mar, we believe that doing something right means taking time to give the situation at hand deliberate care and deep consideration. That level of care is what helped us create one of the most acclaimed resorts, and it is what is guiding our approach to the fast-changing, high-stakes situation the world finds itself in right now. Due to the many variables resulting from the evolving nature of COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to postpone Baha Mar’s reopening and hope to resume operations October 1st, 2020.
It is our hope that in prolonging our closing, we are setting the stage for a more successful reopening, one that will provide the much-needed economic relief and long-term stability we all depend on. In addition to creating robust COVID-19 safety plans, we are monitoring bookings and travel demand as we strategize the exact date to reopen and adjust staffing needs.
While guest-facing operations will not resume until the fall, Baha Mar has recommenced construction in order to expand its resort offerings. The addition of amenities such as Mini Blue, an 18-hole miniature golf course, new retail stores including Tory Burch, Mont Blanc and Christian Louboutin, as well as fan-favorite Sugar Factory will be a main focus throughout the coming months and will launch upon the fall reopening for guests to enjoy.
At the end of the year, Celebrity Chef Marcus Samuelsson’s latest restaurant concept will be added to Baha Mar’s dining portfolio. And the development of Baha Bay, the resort’s luxury, beachfront aqua adventure experience is ongoing and on track to meet its targeted 2021 opening.
It is of paramount importance to us that our associates are supported financially during this time. In that spirit, we are providing up to a further 90 days at 30% of base compensation, in addition to payments you may receive from the National Insurance Board. Furthermore, we will continue to pay insurance premiums necessary to maintain Health Insurance, Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (ADD) Insurance Coverage.
We continue to be grateful for our incredible team of associates. They have exhibited so much strength, resilience, and patience in the past few months. It gives each of us hope to know we have a dedicated team of professionals returning to create a new era at Baha Mar, one where our guests will have incredible and unforgettable experiences.
We look forward to a day when our associates and guests are safely back on our property together again, enjoying all the beauty of Baha Mar and The Bahamas.360 Resort Map
